Vancouver, B.C., November 21, 2019 – Galvanize, the global leader in SaaS governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) software, today announced that the company’s CEO Laurie Schultz has been recognized with the Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100™ award. With this fourth consecutive win, Schultz has been inducted into the Women’s Executive Network’s (WXN) Hall of Fame.
“It’s an honour to be recognized with this award,” said Schultz. “Organizations like Women’s Executive Network play an important role in acknowledging and elevating female leadership across the country. Gender diversity—particularly at the leadership level—is a powerful risk management strategy and driver of financial performance that so many organizations are not yet embracing. Technology is a historically male-dominated industry, and it is more important than ever to be encouraging a new wave of female leaders in this category.”
Schultz has been a member of the BC Tech Association’s Board of Directors and is an outspoken advocate for B.C.’s growing tech industry. She also frequently mentors C-level executives on strategies relating to global revenue growth, talent attraction, succession planning, business model transformation, and technology adoption.
As an advocate of diversity and giving back, Schultz was a Director and Chair of Vancouver’s Dress for Success for six years, as well as a board member of MacKay CEO Forums. She continues her advocacy and community work through her role leading the Canadian-headquartered Galvanize. The company offers paid volunteer days and corporate sponsorship for organizations emphasizing female leadership and empowerment including the Vancouver Board of Trade We For She Conference, the BC Tech Hub, Women in Technology groups, Aunt Leah’s Place, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, and the Ronald McDonald House. Her recently launched initiative, “Galvanize the Community Day,” funded every Galvanize employee to make a difference in their community, or donate to a charity of their choice.
Schultz has previously been awarded WXN’s Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100™ in 2016, 2017, and 2018; the Gold Stevie® Award for Female Executive of the Year; the YWCA’s Women of Distinction award; Business in Vancouver’s Women of Influence award; and the Minerva Foundation’s Excellence in Leadership award. She has also been featured in the Top 100 Women in the North American Channel, and as one of Canada’s Top 20 Women in the IT Channel.
Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100™ awards is the country’s most recognizable award for the highest-achieving female leaders in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors. To mark this year’s awards, WXN hosted an Awards Gala on November 21 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. A full list of winners can be found here.
