ACL readies category consolidation vision with board appointment.
Vancouver, BC, December 18, 2018 — ACL, a leading enterprise governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) SaaS provider, welcomes the addition of NAVEX Global founder Shanti Atkins to its Board of Directors. The appointment signals the acceleration of ACL’s industry consolidation strategy. Industry observers anticipate aggressive organic growth coupled with strategic acquisition towards market leadership.
Atkins brings over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur and business operator, with a proven track record of building innovative, fast-growth software and tech services. As the Founder and former Executive Chair of ethics and compliance platform NAVEX Global, revenue grew from less than $5 million to more than $200 million under her leadership. Atkins currently serves as Chair for Environment, Health, and Safety SaaS provider Cority and Vice Chair of Crisis Prevention Institute, among other software and tech-enabled services organizations.
“What began as the industry’s only cloud-based audit and controls management system has rapidly evolved into an analyst-recognized enterprise GRC platform that has seen triple-digit compound growth over the past seven years,” said Laurie Schultz, CEO of ACL. “We are driving a consolidation agenda obsessed with transforming the GRC market. Shanti is a perfect fit for our board at this point in our trajectory as she adds a remarkable depth of industry domain knowledge, competitive vendor insight, and a wealth of experience governing rapidly growing software organizations.”
Atkins joins one year after ACL received a $50 million strategic minority investment led by the growth equity team at Norwest. The investment fuels the company’s consolidation of the $36 billion GRC market. As a privately held, self-funded business, this represented the first time in ACL’s history that it has taken an outside capital investment.
ACL’s GRC platform offers a flexible solution across the major risk management use cases shared by finance, IT, risk, and compliance leaders at the world’s largest enterprises and governments. The platform is totally unique to the GRC industry in its ground-breaking data integration and robotic process automation capabilities, allowing customers to drive automation and deep risk insights across their GRC-related programs.
“I have been a part of this industry since before it was called GRC and I believe ACL is going to be the platform that does to GRC, what Salesforce.com did to CRM,” said Atkins. “This company has the vision, galvanizing culture, and unwavering commitment to product innovation that is necessary to disrupt the space. Combine this momentum with an authentic commitment to diversity and you have a uniquely powerful organization that aligns perfectly with my own values as a leader.”
